Once the panels are placed, the electrical design is done on the same roof: choose the inverter, build the strings, get the MPPT allocation.
In PVAGE, stringing is not done in a separate spreadsheet but inside the roof design where the panels sit. You pick an inverter from the catalogue, and automatic stringing calculates the modules in series, the string count and the allocation per inverter and per MPPT.
String connections are drawn on the roof as colored lines with plus/minus terminal labels. The inverter position is set and shown in the 3D scene with its cable. Automatic stringing also works on projects with 3,115 panels, 183 strings and 20 parallel inverters.
After the panels are placed, select the inverter, let automatic stringing build the strings and adjust them by hand if needed.
When stringing is done in a separate spreadsheet, the link to each panel's position, shading and orientation is lost. In PVAGE, strings, inverters and MPPT allocation are built on the roof where the panels sit; shading and orientation are visible on the same screen, and the result flows into the proposal and material list without re-entering data.
